The kindergarten trick that makes messages stick

I read a cool story this week from a kindergarten teacher.
He described how glue sticks were always going missing in his classroom. And the children didn’t seem bothered one bit.
So he came up with an ingenious plan: to name all them.
Suddenly, the kids were running around the classroom frantically looking for ‘Gary’, ‘Gwen’ and ‘Gloria’ glue stick.
Why? Because they now felt something. A human connection. Emotion. They had begun to care.
And connection and emotion are huge motivators for action.
So remember this little tale the next time you’re writing something at work. And especially if you’re using AI to help.
Ask yourself: where’s the human connection?
What will my reader/audience feel when they read this?
If your answer is ‘I don’t know’ 'or ‘Not very much’ then it’s time to rethink your approach!
So remember this kindergarten inspiration – it’s a surefire way to make your message stick. (Sorry. I had to.)
